Amman Central Traffic Management & Surveillance System

Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) - JORDAN

Traffic Tech (Jordan) successfully carried out a design & build project for the Amman Central Traffic Management & Surveillance System. The project included the following components among others:

  • SCATS Adaptive Traffic Signal System controlling 96 intersections
  • 40 CCTV IP Dome Camera
  • Advanced IP Video Management & Recording System
  • Ethernet Network connecting all traffic Signal controllers & CCTV cameras to servers  at the control room side via digital VPN.
  • 1200 Inductive detector loops
  • Control Room Equipment
  • Training & maintenance

Traffic Tech's Central Traffic Management System project in Amman - Jordan has received two prestigious awards:

2009 Innovation in Transport - Traffic Management
    - received at Gulf Traffic Conference in Dubai


2008 Best Urban Project
    - awarded by the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) in Jordan

Traffic Signal Installations

Traffic Tech supplied and/or installed and commissioned over 300 signalized intersections in several countries throughout the Middle East and Arabian Gulf region including:

  • 120 intersections for the Public Works Authority (PWA) – Qatar
  • 43 intersections for Qatar Petroleum (QP) Industrial Cities of Mesaieed and Ras Laffan - Qatar
  • 125 intersections for the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) – Jordan
  • 50 intersections for the Ministry of Public Works & Highways (MPWH) – Jordan
  • 22 intersections – Saudi Arabia
  • And others in Bahrain, Syria, and Lebanon.

Signalizing Roundabouts

Traffic Tech has developed a unique phasing and timing system for signalizing roundabouts and have so far signalized more than 20 roundabouts in Qatar.

Maintenance & Improvement of Traffic Signals

Traffic Tech holds 5 maintenance contracts as follows:

1. Ministry of Public Works / Jordan
Maintenance of traffic signals on Rural Roads Contract ongoing from 2002 - 2010.

2. Public Works Authority / Qatar
Maintenance of traffic signals in Doha, 2009 - 2010

3. Public Works Authority / Qatar
Improvement of traffic signals in Doha, 2009 - 2010

4. Qatar Petroleum, Mesaieed Industrial City (MIC)
Maintenance of traffic signals in MIC, 2009 - 2010

5. Qatar Petroleum, Ras Laffan Industrial City
Maintenance of traffic signals, 2010 - 2011
