Over $1 Million Traffic Signal Improvements Contract Awarded to Traffic Tech

The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) of Qatar has awarded Traffic Tech (Gulf) a contract to supply, install, test, and commission traffic signal equipment throughout Doha, Qatar. The contract has a value of more than 4 million Qatari Riyals and will be executed for a period of two years.

Doha International Airport Cargo Terminal Upgrades Its Parking Facility

Traffic Tech (Gulf) installed an Integrated Parking Management System (PMS) at the Cargo Terminal of the Doha International Airport (DIA), equipped with Qatar’s first Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) System that has lane width coverage of up to 5 meters. The project was an expansion of DIA’s existing PMS that was also installed by Traffic Tech.

Parking Management System Handed Over to Cultural Village

Traffic Tech (Gulf) together with Scheidt & Bachmann commissioned the newly installed Parking Management System at Qatar’s Cultural Village, an area that represents traditional architecture of Qatar and the Gulf Region. Under the name “Katara”, the Cultural Village hosts historical and cultural venues including a theater, a library, an arts gallery, a museum, the Gulf Heritage Center, and other academic facilities.

New Parking Management System at Mecca Mall, Jordan

Traffic Tech Commissions the First Tunnel Management System in Qatar

Traffic Tech (Gulf), in partnership with Telegra, has commissioned the first Tunnel Management System in Qatar, an ITS project implemented on the newly opened Ras Abu Aboud Tunnel that links Corniche and Wakrah Road, leading to the New Doha International Airport.

Truck Weigh Stations on Salwa Highway in Qatar are Now Operational

Traffic Tech Group announces the completion of six (6) state-of-the-art Truck Weigh Stations on Salwa Highway, an international road connecting Qatar and Saudi Arabia. The Public Works Authority (PWA) in Qatar has also awarded Traffic Tech a contract to operate the stations for a period of two (2) years.

Sigma Metal Industries Receives ISO 9001:2008 Certification

Sigma Metal Industries (SMI), a member of the Traffic Tech Group, recently received its ISO 9001:2008 certification. SMI has been assessed and found to be in compliance with ISO’s Quality Management System for design, development, fabrication and installation of Traffic Signs, Overhead Gantries & Cantilevers, Steel Structures, Steel Cabinets, and General Metal Fabrication. With this achievement, SMI becomes the first ISO Certified Traffic Sign manufacturer in Qatar.

Traffic Tech Group has added yet another crowning achievement to its history. The company received  the Innovation in Transport – Traffic Management Award for its Central Traffic Management System Project in the recently concluded  Gulf Traffic 2009 Conference in Dubai. In a press release issued by the organizers of the Gulf Traffic Awards, it was reported that the project’s excellent demonstration of innovation along with benefits it has delivered in keeping traffic moving, saving lives and cutting emissions, were the judges’ consideration in giving the award.

Parking Will Soon Be Easier at City Center Mall in Doha-Qatar

Traffic Tech has won a contract to design, install, commission, and maintain an Integrated Parking Management System at City Center Doha, the biggest shopping mall in the State of Qatar.
Once completed, the new system is expected to ease customers’ difficulties in locating vacant spaces within the mall’s two level parking building that have 1,811 parking slots, 6 entries and 10 exits.

Traffic Tech Received Two Prestigious Awards in Jordan

The Greater Amman Municipality in Jordan has named Traffic Tech Middle East the “Best Supplier of Engineering Equipment” for the period of 2005-2008 and awarded Traffic Tech’s Amman Traffic Control Center Project as “Best Urban Project” for 2008. Traffic Tech was the only company that was awarded in both categories.

Traffic Tech Expands into Bahrain

Middle East Integrated Systems (MEIS), Traffic Tech’s subsidiary in the Kingdom of Bahrain, recently opened to serve the markets of Bahrain and the Eastern Region of Saudi Arabia. Traffic Tech established MEIS to expand the group’s coverage in providing turn-key solutions in traffic management, intelligent transport systems, parking management, truck weigh systems, and security & access control. With this new addition, Traffic Tech now operates throughout the Middle East with five offices in three countries (Qatar, Jordan, & Bahrain).

First Tunnel Management System in the State of Qatar

Traffic Tech was awarded a contract to design, install, and commission the first Tunnel Management System (TMS) in the State of Qatar. This Intelligent Transport System (ITS) is expected to meet global safety standards for the operation of a 300 meter long tunnel, currently being constructed as part of the road infrastructure improvements around the vicinity of the New Doha International Airport. The tunnel will provide direct access to motorist coming from the inner city of Doha, Al Corniche to Ras Abu Abboud Street, heading towards the airport.
